Just a couple of weeks ago, I officially started working for NEXT Church, an organization that seeks to equip church leaders to be the church of the 21st century. What does that look like? Well, NEXT is all about connecting leaders within the Presbyterian Church (USA) to share ideas about the practice of ministry, theology, and more. This happens digitally and in person – NEXT hosts a variety of regional gatherings each year in addition to a large national one (this coming February).
I have been hired as the communications specialist for NEXT, which means I will be helping them develop a communications strategy and work on publicity for the upcoming National Gathering. And just today, I posted my first blog for them! Though regularly blogging is not part of my job description (NEXT does an amazing job at engaging people from across the country in contributing to the blog), this month’s theme was the perfect opportunity for me to introduce myself to the people of NEXT:
Each month, we post a series of blogs around a common topic. This fall we’ve asked a number of leaders to respond to the question, “What is saving your ministry right now?” Today we are excited to introduce you to Linda Kurtz, who has just joined the NEXT Church team as a Communications Specialist!
